Experience Ridley Scott’s multi-Academy Award®-nominated cult classic, Blade Runner (2007 Final Cut), on a vast HD screen while Vangelis’ synthesizer-led score is performed by a Chicago Philharmonic chamber orchestra in sync with the 1982 motion picture.
Blade Runner’s film score has REVOLUTIONIZED the way we view synthesizers in music by utilizing the iconic Yamaha CS-80. Blade Runner was proof that synthesizers can convey deep emotions, create exceptional soundscapes, and enhance storytelling in film. The soundtrack’s impact has transformed electronic music and film scoring ever since, demonstrating the enduring power of Vangelis’ trailblazing innovations.

Celebrate the 35th Anniversary of Warner Bros. Pictures’ iconic 1989 DC Superhero film, “Batman,” live in concert with Chicago Philharmonic!
With the soundtrack composed by acclaimed composer Danny Elfman, it was the Batman 1989 score that made Elfman one of the biggest composers of Hollywood and established him as the top choice for comic book movie music. Elfman is known for his film scores for The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), Edward Scissorhands (1990), Mission Impossible (1996), Planet of the Apes (2001), and more with over 100 credits to his name. Danny Elfman’s iconic score for the 1989 Batman film sets a dark and atmospheric tone, with the memorable “Batman Theme” that became instantly recognizable.
The Dark Knight, the defender of law and order in Gotham City, treads the shadow zone between right and wrong, fighting with only his skill in martial arts and his keenly honed mind to defend the innocent and purge the memory of his parents’ brutal murder – always keeping his true identity as millionaire philanthropist Bruce Wayne a closely guarded secret.
The film will be accompanied by Chicago Philharmonic, conducted by James Olmstead, providing the perfect opportunity to revisit a classic fan-favorite film based on one of the world’s most popular DC comic characters, or to introduce it to a new audience.
