Join Chicago Phil Chamber for an evening of beautiful music “Out Back” at North Shore Center for the Performing Arts! Experience Beethoven’s Octet, a classic example of early 19th century “harmoniemusik”, composed for entertainment at parties. Despite being a piece from Beethoven’s early period, the Octet shows many of the composer’s signature elements, with a boisterous minuet and high-flying, heroic writing for horns. Following the footsteps of Beethoven’s “harmoniemusik” is Gounod’s charming Petite Symphonie, and rounding out the program are two stunning tangos by Piazzolla.
