Chicago Philharmonic Welcomes Stetson Marshall to Board of Directors

Stetson_Pierre_0515_DO_NOT_PRINT_WEB_SIZEThe Chicago Philharmonic is proud to announce the appointment of Stetson Marshall to its Board of Directors. Marshall brings a dynamic blend of financial expertise, artistic insight, and philanthropic leadership to the organization, deepening its commitment to artistic excellence and community engagement.

Marshall is the CEO of a management consulting firm advising government, private, and nonprofit institutions on financial oversight, risk management, and strategic growth. His multifaceted career spans audit leadership, entrepreneurship, and performance, bridging business strategy with creative expression.

A passionate supporter of the Philharmonic, Marshall previously served on the Associate Board and has been an advocate for the orchestra’s mission. His board service includes leadership roles at TC Squared Theater and The Theater Offensive in Boston, where he championed cultural narratives and expanded access to the arts.

“Joining the Philharmonic’s board feels like a natural extension of my belief in the power of music to transform lives.” said Marshall. “I’m honored to support an organization that has a vision of making that power accessible to people throughout our city and beyond; that leads with both artistic and civic purpose.”

“Stetson’s appointment reflects the Philharmonic’s commitment to bold, forward-thinking leadership,” said Executive Director Terell Johnson. “His work on our Associate Board has already demonstrated his excellence and vision. This transition to a governing role is a natural next step.”

“Stetson brings a combination of strategic insight and creative energy,” said Board Chairman Tom Manning. “His leadership will help guide the Philharmonic through a period of exciting growth and deepening impact.”

Marshall joins the Board of Directors as the Philharmonic prepares for its landmark October 18 performance of An African American Requiem and the world premiere of Invictus (learn more here), continuing its season of ambitious programming and community partnerships.
